Definitely the chain pickerel. I do the same with walleyes if I get them.

Leo ,somehow I knew you'd be here lookin' for a handout! LOL .When you say " Smoked Pickerel "do you mean Chain Pickerel or what Midwesterners refer to as what we Easterners call a Walleye ! It gets regionally confusing . Smoked Pickerel wow ! ,gotta have that !

Apple wood smoked pickerel for 5 hours, then switch to a quick flash fry for a few seconds. Always get my taste buds singing.

Just fine by me but its been a long time eating pickerel and the wife and I used too much batter last night on these fillets. We'll have to try again sometime and bring out the fish flavor more with a thinner batter.

Never had pickerel.  How do they taste?
