Do you love big bluegill?
first fish of February. It was a two hour game of cat and mouse. I used a red lazer hook, which attracted the fish, but it was too large, so the light bites had little consequence. The small fish just kept chipping away and retreating. It was too small to risk everything; but Finally I hooked the the liitle sunfish. The Ice was not solid enough to sit on with a short ice fishing pole,so I went out yesterday and chopped a whole about 8 feet from the shore. There's a drop off shelf there and the water get's deep within a little more than an arm's distance from the bank..

Mike, believe me I was ecstatic to land anything, yesterday...You gotta love the small ones too; they'll be bulls one day...Cheers!
ps: this fish came out of an irrigation pond in south Central New Jersey ; not a place known for ice fishing
