This fish was moving from bed to bed in 3' of water. Sight-fished him by tossing a Flu Flu jig under a float in his path...

So what did you catch this thing on, what type of BOW were you in and how deep was it?

No weight or measurement on this one. I tossed it back as I was working an area with freaks like this one all over. I'm guessing right in that 1lb. range. I ended up getting one even taller and sent it to Tim for a replica. Can't wait to see what he can do with such unique colors!

Nice one Matt! Welcome to this great site.
Sometimes it's hard to tell what kind of sunfish you catch.
Hybrid cross between this and that? Drives me crazy trying to figure it out.
I like the pure strains myself. Hybrids, from what I understand, are mostly sterile. Their genes mixed together like that probably don't make a good recipe for reproduction.
I know it's a thrill however to catch a hybrid or sunfish that has different colorations out of the norm. More of a unique and rare catch.
The one you got there really looks cool.
