These grass mats are floating......interesting fact in these bayous are bogs surround them but the bottoms are firm enough to support walking.....just years and years of wind tides have carved out the silt and left sand and clay in most spots......panfish are right at home....multiple species.....

Does it drop off that quick, or is the grass floating on the water? In other words, is the ground solid enough to step out and walk on?

very bushy looking - how deep is it there where the weeds end?
