Understand Carl...........I've already caught 236 largemouth this year without ever saying I'm "bass" fishing..........they are abundant and will take most baits.........Should encounter a few big girls in the weeks ahead as the spawn is now taking off in remaining rivers.........

On most years I catch my largest bass while fishing for panfish or other species.

JEFFERY;; YOU HAD US WORRIED THERE FOR A MOMENT !! YEARS AGO; I MADE A HALF HEARTED ATTEMP AT BASS FISHING;; DIDNT LIKE IT;; NOW;; I CATCH MORE BASS ON ACCIDENT; THAN I DID ON PURPOSE ;; FISHING FOR BLUE GILL !! LOL

Not at all Allen.......they were launching out of the same location and I just checked out their weigh-in Saturday afternoon when I was through fishing........always curious to see how the bass fishery is doing locally.......any bass I catch is on gear intended for panfish........happens a lot but I still enjoy the battle.....

Bass Tourney?!?!?!?! Say it ain't so! Please tell me you haven't crossed over to the Dark Side!
Last week I was doing the exact same thing, jigs tipped with waxies close to cover, in a sheltered bay on the north end, shallow water with a dark bottom. Lots of Gills and a decent Crappie. Saw lots of Bass, but couldn't get any to eat....

Indeed Slip.......it took over 23 pounds to win a one day bass tourney on this body of water Saturday.........we didn't land any big ones but several chunky fighters like this one......fun to catch.......
