I know what you mean John. My buddy and I will both be 64 this year. I still miss ice fishing even after being here in GA since '86, except for one winter Northern MO. I never had a big boat growing up, and could not get to all the good spots on the Mississippi river during the open water times of the year. Ice fishing put everyone on the same playing field.

Thanks Ken and congrats again on your White Bass award!  Got a 14" Crappie from my home lake last year on a spin jig but it's the biggest I've gotten since the 16 and 16.5 I got in the 1980's from another lake  . I am hoping my home lake is gonna see them reach that size but I'd be surprised if they did .The bigger fish came from a bigger lake with way more weed structure and more natural and better conditions .I really enjoy jigging these up as opposed to getting them on a set line.

Sounds like a great honey hole, John. I remember as a kid laughing when one of us fell on the ice, and at the "old men" who wore ice creepers. Last year my buddy from IA reminded me of this, and said "we must be getting old" since he bought a pair of creepers for himself and will not go on the ice without them. A fall now could be serious, and these are a great tool to keep your backside off the ice
