John:

> I'll go as high as 6# if needed, but use a lot of 2-4 lb. mostly.

> Yes, a lot of them are regular Thill Gold Medal Series floats. A few are more specialized floats I received from a match fishing friend, as well as the obligate small slip floats. Actually, over half of the floats pictured can be set up and used as slip floats. I try and cover about every situation without overcomplicating the system and delving into the minor intricacies that dedicated match fishermen do. I don't need/want that level of exactness. I'd guess this little float pack already allows me to fish more precisely than about 90%+ of the general public, which is good enough for me on my waters.

> I carry 10 different sizes of soft earless split shot. The 6 largest sizes are from BPS (http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Premium-Round-Split-Shot-Weig...)  and are carried/labeled in the clear vials. The 4 smallest sizes are Thill soft shot and are in the small dial dispenser (top left) - http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fly-Fishing/Fly-Fishing-Acce...

Allen: Love the wagglers. Like everything though, they have their place and time when I throw them.

Dwayne: 20 ml scintillation vials which can be had at about any scientific supply store online. I use them for any loose terminal tackle such as hooks, weights, split shot, bobber stopper, swivels, etc. Keeps everything clean and together.

John: I cast with all of them using spinning gear, and rarely if ever pole fish. Some obviously cast better or farther than others, but that varies widely based upon how and what you're fishing, shotting, etc. In most cases, I'm not casting that far, and in those instances that I do, I simply increase float size and shotting to help accomplish that.

Are these small floats only used with poles or to you cast them with reels on rods? Looks like 1 to 4# test stuff. Are a lot of them  from the Thill Gold Medal Series? I'm curious what kindof shot you have pictured also. Thanks for posting ! http://bigbluegill.com/group/slipfloating

Great looking box and floats. If I may ask, what do you have weights in?

I see SOMEBODY likes Thill slip-floats!

How do you like those wagglers?  I've been meaning to try one, just haven't gotten around to it yet.
