My wife sometimes forgets to set the hook so last year I bought her some circle hooks for gills. We do a lot of bottom fishing with red wigglers and a split shot for weight. She really likes using circle hooks, and her bite to catch ratio has improved a lot, with very few fish swallowing the hook. I have used circle hooks on catfish for a few years now, and rarely use any other hook for them anymore.

I may look into circle hooks for crackers. They're the worst for swallowing hooks that ive seen with live bait besides trout.
