Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This was actually the state record Bluegill for Kentucky caught by Jimmy Harper at one time and it was over 2 lbs...now over 4lbs is the record...dude, that's insane.
I completely overhauled this fish with a new base and paintjob. I think it turned out pretty sweet. But of course I'm biased to the taxidermist! haha

This site is really cool by the way!! I love it.

Yeah, Jimmy is a good friend of mine and he caught this fish in the Malone Coal Pit Pond in West Liberty.
I'm not sure where the new record is from though but it was huge. Appreciate the comments. I absolutely love painting bluegill in my shop. They are such a beautiful fish when they are done right.
My first ones when I started...looked like a piece of green firewood when I painted them...terrible!@ hahaha But that was 9 years ago

The new record came from a coal pit around 1980, right? On a plastic worm? Any chance you have permission to fish that pit?
