This is one of my best friends from New York on a day back in 2006 when we got on some monster Coppernose on the Pasquotank River.......

Thanks Bruce, my friend Wes pictured here didn't catch his fist bluegill until he retired and moved in as my neighbor a few years back.....I have created another monster! LOL
Really nice looking fish!
Yes, but only north of Elizabeth city in my opinion......River is too wide south of town thus it can get rough very quickly.....several miles wide at the mouth.....but going North there is sheltered shorelines and creeks for fishing....Several kayakers fish these areas often. There are several locations on several rivers in this area.....North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission has a great website with all state boat launches shown and all of these are free of charge............The answer is yes Steve, I choose my bass boat because this region is huge as far as water available goes.........
The Pasquotank River seem to be a good place for bluegills Jeffrey. Any good place to launch a canoe and fish from there?
Found a few more picture CDs so here is one from the archives.......Looking for some of my larger gills that aren't featured here yet.....These fish were Wes' introduction to Coppernose and he has been hooked ever since!
