Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Here's a much better photo of the GIANT Redear right after she was caught. It looks like he may have been bait fishing, by the looks of those rod holders in the boat. She
measured 17" long and had a girth of 19.5"!

Yeah, sorry 'bout that Bruce.  And you know, I'll never feel good again about holding up a "big" 10 or 11 inch Redear for a photo.  And I thought we were doing pretty good with our 1 to 2 pounders!  What the heck!

Thanks for posting this photo. I had not seen this yet. This is such a horrible trick to play on a person in February. I was already wanting to fish a lot. Now I have to look at this nonsense. I'm in awe...

I can't even imagine landing a fish like that. Thanks for sharing the pics.

I heard he was soakin' a crawler, but that is only hearsay....might be way off.

Do we know whether the angler was fishing specifically for redear, or was it another incidental catch by a bass fisherman like the last record?

Comment by Walt Foreman on February 18, 2014 at 7:08pm

That is just ridiculous, crazy, unbelievable, awesome, etc.  It looks like he's holding a friggin' carp the thing is so big.
