BOOM!!! First Master Angler of the Year!... Slip Floating!

I had a short opportunity for some kayak fishing before a line of t’storms were to move in… rain, rain, rain…

I grabbed a couple of slip float and a micro-jig setups and headed out to one of my favorite cuts.

Water temps were in the mid to upper 70’s with a FAL (Fish Activity Level) of a very low 12% mid way between the full and new moon. Weather was clear with a slight breeze and a line of t’storms moving into the area shortly.

The timing was a little off hitting the Minor.Period at the very tail end. Hopefully, the incoming storms would act as a secondary trigger… I was proved right shortly… just over 5 mins into the trip hooking up with a trophy P.Seed just hitting that 9.0” mark. Wow first certificate fish of the year!

The fish was tagged on the Slip/Float/Fly/Waxie Method… my favorite presentation of the year for numbers as well as the trophy fish.
