A great combination of color and real forage with a grass shrimp tipped on the hook

I go smaller in a few ponds/pits I fish Jim with clearer water, but the #6 has proven very effective in the tidal rivers here for the reasons you mentioned earlier.......It allows me to land the predator species too, which happens almost every trip in brackish water.....

Cool, Jeff. A #6 seems almost too big, but then again you're averaging over 400 gills a year over 10 inches in your boat. Plus, that dark water environment doesn't give gills much chance for picky observation, hence, great effectiveness for this in NC.

You're right Jim.....I like a #6 lazer sharp by Eagle Claw for bait in my region.....

What size circle is that? Looks almost like a Kahle.

It has been very productive for gills and crappie alike Vince........get color.....smell.....and the protein and texture of the live bait all in one.....

I like the looks of that combination. I bet it would work well in most waters.
