Thanks guys for the nice comments. These were not caught through the ice, but in open water at 10 to 13 feet deep as they had backed off from staging areas just prior to the spawn.

Great looking fish, Jim!

I fell short of my goal in catching some jumbos through the ice, so I may have to travel a little here in NE to get it done this spring.  Those are great table fare, so enjoy my friend!  Once again VERY nice.

I remember being surprised once, to see a yellow perch on my line. Actually, I had never seen one here before that. I didnt know they were found in South Carolina... white perch yes - not yellows. I thought it was a beautiful fish, and it reminded me of a walleye.

Mine was nowhere as big as yours, though, and I've not seen another one since.
