Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This is a next step tie, a Woolly Bugger on a smaller shank. I used a common plain dry fly hook, size 8. I'm trying to shrink the Woolly type to bluegill mouth size.
Shorter, fatter, with a red deer hair tail.
Grey flash chenille, fine.
Kind of a Woolly Worm hybrid.... Still very "woolly."

Thanks Mike.
I'm thinking I may just trim the hackle that I have, using scissors to cut the sides.
I'll get a bristly worm and not a "hairy" one, but that may be fine.
I've ended up with a bunch of the same hackle, so rather than buy yet another bunch to keep up with, I'll go this way.
Thanks for the tips.

WE hope so, Leo.

This will guaranty solid bites, especially on slight windy day, as the wind helps your line to create that extra needed motions.
