Jeff,  If insects are in the food chain, I'd be tempted to go fly rod on them.  Those look like they have been eating good!  Were you using live bait?

It was a good morning to be out on the lake.   The 8 fish on this stringer were just the largest ones I caught, there were many small guys caught under 9 inches that I did not string.  After this photo that "Sir Bluegill" took, I released these fish.  I had plenty of Bluegill fillets in the freezer already.

Great bunch of fish, Jeff! That sounds like a perfect lake. The fish you have there are proof of that! A good fertile lake will produce great fish.
