The smallmouth are located in the upper portion of Nickjack Lake (Below Chickamauga Dam). On the North side of the river One Mile below the Launching ramp at the river walk there is a sandbar. If the Dam is generating power, you can see a slight sanding wave that runs to the river channel. The sandbar is located near the ramp on the North Chattanooga Side. Beware, use shiners and 8+ lb test line. If you don't get a smallmouth at the dropoff it will be a catfish in the 10 to 25 pound class using shiners from Jacks bait shop on HWY 58. That is a "Honey Hole"

Timothy- I watched a TV show just yesterday featuring the Smallmouth fishing at Nickajack. Looks like a wonderful place!
