Do you love big bluegill?
Joe's introduction to fishing ice jigs "doodlesocking" style with just a small indicator on the line......I think he likes it! Pole fishing remains a staple to catch quality gills......

Here's Joe with a trophy bluegill caught on the same shore line back in August when we were going a little deeper to escape surface temps in the high 80s..........this was also his introduction to "line indicator" fishing......don't take too many like this to convince anyone.........
Thanks Carl......we got out twice over the weekend and hope to fish one or two days this week before he heads back out for awhile........He wants to doodlesock again while the fish are biting the ice jigs shallow........we had fun and push toward the cotton turning white......the next big change in our region..........
Joe is having a awsome time catching these superb gills !
Thanks Slip.......We all have our personal favorites.......I know how to fly fish but rarely pick it up.......any way you can catch fish is a fun way in my book...LOL........with "doodlesocking" a long pole is a must.........
Nice fish and nice snap Jeff!
I don't ever think I could get used to fishing with a telescopic pole... I feel like I'm missing half of the sport. I love the art of casting always have.
Thanks Jim........Joe was very happy with this one and the battle that occurred on the 10 foot telescopic pole......this location is less than a mile from the open sound but notice how calm it was yesterday.......water temps reduced to 78 degrees too.......makes for some pleasant fishing in a month that's normally a little ore challenging to locate willing fish..........
Great fish! Let's make Joe famous!
