Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

The weather reports all week forecast a pretty decent weekend. Saturday morning the weather looked a little rough, and the forecast had changed. Got on the water in the morning and it was over cast and a little windy. Anchored up by some blowdowns, made a cast and wham. Line is running out against my drag, and the fish goes right to the bottom. Probably a cat. Not much I can do with 4lb. mono. I got him to move a couple of times over the next 10 minutes until it finally broke me off. The wife and I turn around and the sky had turned black and the wind really started to come up. Run for the landing and got it on teh trailer without incident. Always Sunday morning right? Nope Up at 5:30 am on Sunday, raining.
Guess there's always next weekend. Our first shunk of the season.

David, we got skunked a lot after moving to north Georgia from northern Indiana. These reservoirs fish a lot different than the natural lakes up north. Fortunately we've begun to figure out the patterns here so it doesn't happen very often any more. I'm just hoping we have a mild fall, it's my favorite time to fish here.

Nice recap on the outing. There's always another day to wash the skunk scent off. Have plenty of those days myself.
