Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I found this photo somewhere, maybe here on this site a few years back. Does anyone know who it's from, where it was caught, and why it has this beautiful pinkish color? I would love to have these in Lake Perris!

An added note…  Wouldn't it be great to have BBG member and master fish artist Tim Overbaugh do a mount of one of these colorful Bluegills?!  His rendition of the actual live fish colors are superb.

Yeah Carl, for sure.  But it would be hard for me to kill a fish like this!

Could be, Jeff.

I don't know David,  I've seen them very pale, almost transparent when caught from cold, dingy water.  Maybe this fish is eating more crustaceans or shrimp?//

Pink from the cold is my guess.
