Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

finished wrapping the guides, cut off all tag ends of thread, burnish the wrap, burn off any fuzzies left on the wrap. final check to make sure all the guides are aligned, glue on the tip top, test cast to make sure the guides align with the spine of the rod. tie a heavy weight on the end of the line to make sure the guides are loaded evenly under weight, then I put on four coats of gudebrod varnish. its finished!

NICE LOOKING ROD MARK and the green on gray is a great color combo and did many rods that color myself.  Can't see good enough now but did you tip the wraps or do an inlay or anything? Did you use a preformed grip or stack and glue? In any case it looks super!

Nice, i would like to make some of my own rods one of these days. Is it very difficult?

Beautiful looking rod you built, Mark. I know you are anxious for that first bull gill on it!

Chris, this rod was a little over $70 dollars to be build a comparable rod from the shelf would be in the $140 range.
