Thanks for the nice responses.
Dick, I think I like retirement too much for a 2nd job. It would cut into my fishing time LOL!
Mark the finished Fly rod looks good I think you done a fine job who knows maybe you'll have a 2nd job.
GOOD JOB, MARK!!!!! I will be watching for a REPORT!!!!!!
HEY MARK,
The albumn pics answered all the questions I asked!!! Nice build and just curious here : why didn't you glue the cork on the blank and save one step? I made a different type of glue clamp , one that is square with a hole in the top for the blank to slip through and a peice of all thread rod on each corner with a wing nut? That way it can be compressed and evenly all the way around ? Just wondering . Nice detailed pics of the build and you are a real thread packer from what I can see! You've enticed me into building one this winter just to see if I can still do it or not!
Nice rod! It was really interesting to see the pics of its construction, I had no idea what the tools used in rod building looked like. Gives me some idea of what I'd like to do next in my Tons of Free Time (TM) - learn enough about rod building to re-do the wraps on a couple of old Nightcrawler Secrets rods I have (and speaking of which, I finally got a hold of the 9-foot Nightcrawler Secrets model built on a Fenwick 108-9 blank that I've wanted since middle school; should arrive late this week).
