@Musky - many of the lakes in California - particularly in SoCal - are wake-limited, which translates to a 10 (or sometimes 5) MPH speed limit. Makes things nice for us fishermen, esp. since many SoCal lakes are not large and would be considered little more than farm ponds in many parts of the country. Three of my favorite lakes in San Diego County are all under 200 acres. At least one of them is under 100. Not sure if Perris is no-wake or not, though.

Most water skiers in the San Diego area either ski in salt water (Mission Bay) or go out to the Colorado River.

Bruce, Lake Perris is one of the best BG lakes in the state, I'm sure you could find a few. Makes me wish I still lived in SoCal, but most of the jobs in my line of work are in the Silicon Valley area, so here I am and here I'm likely to stay :p

@Jeff - I seem to recall reading that float tubes aren't allowed at Perris, or is that Diamond Valley I'm thinking of?

The beauty of this lake freaks me out a little bit.  Are bluegill difficult to locate?  Is it something only the locals can figure out?

I didn't know there was a pier there. I will be fishing there my next visit home!

This actually was a week day in the early Spring of last year.  There were some boaters out, but not too many during the week.  Plus, this is area is a "no power boats" zone.  It's called Sail Cove.

Jeff, I see no boats.....is this a body of water that contains relatively few boating maniacs?
