That's a pretty hole of water! What is it's clarity?

Sorry.Try both California Tule Perch and California Yellow Perch. The perch varies in sizes depending whether they're up north, or here down south, and which perch species it is. Northern areas have slightly larger perch, while the southern areas, well..we get mini-sizes tule perch, and 1/2 size of your YP.

Depending on which lake you're talking about. For Lake Perris, the deepest part of the lake is 110ft, that already accounted for the recent water rising. If future repair of the dam completed, and new level to be increased, 125 to 130ft total. The shallowest point would be 3ft, beside the beaches and accessible spots for wading, which is ankle deep.

We do have perch, but they're California perch species that were dumped via the California Aqueduct from the Silverwood Lake, which received its water from various other northern and central California's lakes. Plenty of other fish types get transported from various water body. That's why Lake Perris got such a unique load of various species.  Wish we have YP your sizes though.

Leo how deep does your lake get? Also how big is it ?The lake I caught this YP  is small and the average depth I'd say is 6-12' but does have small ares down to 25' and a little section 30 ' .I really gotta anchor and live bait fish that 30' area and see what happens. I've caught my biggest YP usually near or in deep water .The only fish I've pulled up to the boat with a swim bladder coming out of it's mouth ! I think that happened fishing in 25' of water .

Wow..The overcast really give the fish a chance to forage without too much fear of predators. Would love to catch some YP though. The ones in our lake is so small, it's worth only as bait fish.
