Jim Doom is by far the best guide that I have ever been out with!

Troy, I have taking two trips with Jim Doom on Lake Barkley. Last year and this year. That was by far the biggest Redear I have ever seen in person and I was the one that netted it, took measurements of it l, and I took all the photos!!!! It was 14 inches long and 13 inches in girth, an absolute giant! I actually have two more pictures of it that I'm trying to get uploaded on this comment blog

Troy I'm not disputing the weight at all. If his estimate is correct, that would place this fish at around 143% of  average, healthy weight of a redear of that length. That's doable, and is the reason trophy fish exist in the first place. My reason for wanting to see more photos is simply to try and get a better angle. I see the photos of his right hand curled around the stomach, as well as his right wrist and thumb, which makes me scratch my head a little.

That's why records rely on weight, not length. Weight is a much more telling description, but falls short in the visual excitement department. Length gets all the glory!

Tony, put your hands in the exact position that his hands are in and you'll see just how massive this fish really is. This fish overwhelms both of his hands quite easily.

I was told it was over 14inches and the girth was over 13inches. The formula calculates this fish to be around 3lb. 14X13X13÷800 is the formula. This fella told me the fish was around 3lb, I believe him. I've caught several 12.5inch fish from these lakes that were almost 2lbs. These fish are THICK, Tony.

Standard weight for a 14 inch redear is 2.1 lbs, so it would be pretty cool to see some additional photos of this fish. Very nice catch!!
