Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

the lake draw down of 3-4’ the past week has had a overall negative effect on the fishing perspective of the lake. However despite these conditions we were able to pick fish out of neutral schools and put together a decent catch. We still found the fish hovering tight to the bottom in the main river channel and had to keep all the crappies and gills regardless of size. Dropped down to micro tungsten and 2# test to entice the bite. Persistence pays off! Gulp Maggots produced one fish the rest were caught on wigglers and waxies.Fish were generally small in size 6-9.5" and worked out perfect for harvest. Pink and white and fire tiger were the jig colors of choice.

Thanks Jeff and Jim
11 weeks that's a long time! it's been a terrible winter season here also. Lakes skimmed over with thin ice mid November and didn't get safe ice till second week in January good fishing conditions till Feb 12 then the bottom fell out here with the multiple polar vortexes... ice then got very thick quickly. Overall bad winter season.
