a nice little color chart and guide

Carl, I'm sure they do.  Maybe not the spectrum we see, though.  I also know the fish can see a little into the UV spectrum, thus, the explosion of popularity for "UV baits".  Also, remember that various colors wash out the deeper into the water column you go.

deadly color combos;; gives more thought to;; do fish really see color ?

Good question Allen.......I don't like the impacts of cold fronts for gills but Crappie is a different story......last weekend's bite picked up when strong southwest winds ahead of the front created a strong incoming wind tide which moves bait pods tight to cover and concentrates them more setting up for aggressive predators....crappie fishing can be great post cold front as well but often the conditions behind a front make boating or fishing very tough......

Jeff, you mentioned a "closing cold front".  I've always heard that the six hours or so ahead of a cold front turns the bite on for most species.  Have you noticed the same?  If so, do you think it had an effect on the bite you were fishing?

Actually I'm torn Tooty......it's never been this hard for me to decide what to tie on.........so many great baits and jigs to choose from these days.......bring it on......I love having a lot of everything!
