thanks Leo... actually its kind of fun exploring and defining the areas that i/we fish. i elected to share the map data i am uploading. ... and of course i'm mapping my favorite spots first and then fill in between later. its a large lake of 2000+ acres. hopefully others will continue adding their data as well.

thanks David .... it all started as an aquarist breeding and reproducing tropical fish... take your large female brooder out of your system is/was devastating. have fisherman take the largest females out an ecosystem is also devastating. Fishing facts magazine was starting to become very popular back then and preached CNR and im glad to see it progress up to this point.it truly has done much for our sport.

We need guys like you to scan the lakes' and ponds' bottom to generate these kind of up-to-date contours. Of course, having a fast moving watercraft, and the digital equipment is the crucial thing.

With all that in your repertoire, I'm just glad you're a C&R supporter, Ken.

here is a pic showing a three way screen on the elite 7 showing lake map gps position, sonar screen and down scan imaging screen. look at that detailing of the tree and fish in the limbs. vertical jigging is great when you know whats down there.

hehe David i now think of it this way "you can swim but you cant hide" and yes with all this technology in our favor CNR is now more important than ever.

i was running a piranha-max 170 without gps and not marking way points for about a year, then i added a Navionics mapping program to my android smart phone. this provided the gps capability as well as a way to mark way points for future reference. however a couple of the maps provided were very disappointing and needed some serious updating. I walked into Jays sporting goods and started rummaging through the electronics dept etc when a salesman approached and asked if i was interested in a depth sounder. i responded " the day a depth sounder would be able create, store and record the sounding  data i would be in the market. he then proceeded to point out all the lowrance units from 700.00 to 3200 dollars that would be able to do this. my jaw dropped. i however had a mandate and budget for a 5hp 4stroke outboard at the time or use electric all year and get the sounder. i ended up with the 5hp at 50% clearance and the sounder at just over budget. i will tell you i have broke almost all pb fish and pb quantities with the improvement of implementing the sounder into my fishing program. i fish a tough reservoir with some fantastic sized fish. tough in the amount and lack of structure. you know the old Fishing Facts Magazine rule 90% of the fish are in 10% of the water. this sounder eliminates a lot of precious time weeding out that 90%. my 14" personal best perch came from an outside bend in the original river channel that was 2ft deeper than the rest of the channel and was suspended about a foot off the bottom. i have spotted musky or pike 4ft long and blue gills and crappies mixed in the branches of trees. the down scan imaging is comparable to underwater photography.  it is amazing.
i remember splitting the cost and use of the lowrance green box with my dad back in the early seventies and using it for the next ten years. it stepped up our fishing tremendously and thinking back was it worth it . YES!
here is a pic of the Navionics app i use on my android. it was about 20.00 dollars

Amazing. Im surprised there are any fish left, anywhere. Probably a good thing this technology is way out there in price.
Certainly something to save my pennies for.

This is a great resource ! Shame the lowrance elite 7 hdi  unit costs 600 bucks . I need someone with the unit to come fishing with me in my lakes and I'll pay them for these maps .
