vince ... do your hooks have the angular offset? if they do straighten it out perfectly in line with the shaft.

David...i was trying to find the original pkging before i posted... i believe they are size 14 eagle claw lazer point circle hooks.

i originally started using them when i was teaching my grandsons to fish. perfect application for this. bobber goes down and tell them to start reeling in. less gut hooked fish. some circle hooks come with an angled offset... i straighten them out with pliers first before i use them. the offset negates the advantage of circle hook use.

Do you find that the gills often swallow the circle hooks, Ken? They seem to a lot on me. I use #8 Gamakatsu hooks.

thanks guys... this morning I wanted to test a smaller sized circle hook I found. I was really impressed with an increase percentage of hookups
