Hes a natural for sure! I wish I woulda thought to video it. It took him a good 2 to 3 min to get him in the boat.

He was playin in the bottom of the boat with some crackers and a pair of pliers when I hollered Look at your cork son! haha He jumped up and snatched that pole so hard I thought he was gonna pull the lips off the fish. Its just amazing to see a 3 year old wrestling with a 13ft BnM crappie buster! Fish got hung in the tree top and the poor boy seemed almost as if he were shakin he was so excited. I calmly said just hold it tight.... Dont jerk it son. Lets see if he can wiggle his way out of it. With the confidence of a 80 year old war vet he looks at me with a gleam in his eye and says "Cork goes down, pole goes up! I got him daddy...... He gettin in this boat! I gonna eat him!" Bout brought a tear to my eye! Sure nuff he wiggled lose and when that line started moving again and showed me that the fight was on I hit the trolling motor moving us out into the open away from the top. Now its nothing wrong with helping a kid catch a fish but at the same time we learn best from our mistakes. If he sets the hook I never help him with his fish other than netting it for him. I love it when I cant take the credit for the fish he catches. I love the words " I did it all by myself" and the look on peoples faces when I say Yep. I didnt help one bit! After fighting in open water for a good 3 min. Dropping the pole dragging him outta the tree tops and wearing him out he finally gets him to the side of the boat and hollas those 3 words every fisherman loves to hear............

GET THE NET! GET THE NET DADDY! GET THE NET!

Now that's just cool! If we don't pass it on, it just won't happen. Good job, Jeremy!
