Do you love big bluegill?

Best fish from the 15 Redears, 9 Bluegill, and 1 Smallmouth (of only 6 in this pond) caught on mealworms yesterday, 7-17-10.

Those are all from my big pond, so they are not feedtrained Redears. I have been transferring small and intermediate Redears from the RES/YP/SMB pond into it for two years to make up for it's Redear deficiency and to grow them out. This is apparently working well.

The Smallies in this pond are definitely NOT feedtrained; they refused to eat anything at all for two weeks in captivity last Fall and I moved them here rather than have them deteriorate further. They are doing fair to middlin' with all the Largemouth competition - maintaining weight, but not growing much. They sure are aggressive, though - I have caught 4 of the 6 so far this year.

Man! Some of those bluegill are wickedly fat! So are the redears. Are those feed-trained redears? Feed trained smallmouth? Great job!
