I fish backwater lakes off the Chattahoochie River about an hour north of Atlanta for these tasty fish. My best one here weighed 1lb. 12oz.. I prefer fishing a 1/32 or a 1/16oz. jig with a tube skirt tipped with a minnow. My go to color is a blue and white tube, but have caught them on many other combinations depending on the conditions.

Comment by John Sheehan on November 11, 2011 at 7:00am: Yellow Perch in the shallows (some Gills too) in November ,YES! Jig and crawler piece slip floated @4'.They can be caught out in the basin areas drifting and dragging same bait .Yellow Perch are active!
