Thanks, Dick! You getting out at all?  I got skunked the 1st three times on the ice this year but got on some last two times at two different lakes. This was the best I've done on this lake. No Trout, Bass or Pickerel like the past. We had 6 tip-ups with small shiners out but only one Perch on the tip-ups. I am now sold on tungsten Jigs for ice Fishing.

Some nice Gills and Perch and a Bullhead through the ice for the three of us. My total was 13 with 12 out of one hole. Biggest Perch was 13" biggest Gill, 8.1/2. A fine outing. Once I found that one hole it was dead stick time, as only 2 came holding the rod and one on a tip up. I am convinced mid ice waxies and dead sticking off a bucket rod holder with 3#test and spring bobber or sensitive tip is the ticket. 2 waxies and fresh bait often was a great pattern. Sat on a bucket and watched the flasher tell its story. Second time catching with the dead stick waxie/ tungsten Jig approach. Apparently, it's a winner approach to mid Ice lite bite Panfish.

It amazes me how big a bait a late Summer/ Fall Perch will take! Perch eats Rainbow Trout Pattern

Cold water scenario Nov.1st Floating Jigs heads under split shot and small jigheads /Crawler pieces. The best Perch and Gills were under leaves nearest the current coming from the Pipe.
