Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I am new to the site, this group and targeting panfish with lures.  I have already had some sucess and cant wait to keep more coming in!  Caught my first gills/rock bass with a yell grub with curly tail on spinning setup with 4lb line and a small slpit shot sinker above the hook.  I am going to add a larger shot to cast out further than about 5 feet from the bank lol.  Hope to learn alot from this site and group!

i personally use a jighead with my curly tail grubs. anywhere from 1/64oz to 1/8oz

Welcome aboard!

What kind of rod are you using to throw that bait?  Do you have any jigheads to use instead of a plain hook?

Yes I have jig heads, and plan on getting more since im sure mine are rusty and just plain old lol.... as soon as I get a chance to get out to the car Ill get the rod/reel info..... The jig heads I have are just loose so I have no idea what the wieghts are but I will just use em.  What else is good to use other than jigs with grubs?
