Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I have been shopping for a new gill rod for a few days now, and should know the right one as soon as I pick it up. After trying many out in the store, none have felt just right . I have fished the older style Lightning Rods and liked them. I am looking for a 5'6" or possibly a 6' under 65.00. Any suggestions?

That's a tough choice, but it's probably my 5' 1-piece Fishing Facts Nightcrawler Secrets rod that I bought around 1975. About time to have the guides rewrapped maybe, but it still works great and has a lot of backbone for an ultralight.

I bought a Shakespeare Microspin at Wal Mart for $20 and have been pretty happy with it.  I believe the rod is 4'6" and the reel is okay.  There is another Shakepeare reel I may throw on there, but overall it has been a blast to catch bluegills with it.

i would suggest a 5'3" Shimano Voltaeus. Great rod for the price. (I got mine for 40$)

Has anyone fished any of the rods Norseman Outdoors sells? I was looking at a 5'6" UL, and was wondering if it was too maybe too whippy.

My favorite are Eagle Claw 5' to 6' range......I have some that are 30 years old and still catching fish.....I own roughly 20 and they're hands down my choice........Caught a 20 ounce gill on one of my old ones today...
