Do you love big bluegill?
warm enough to hit the lake today!
Warmed up after a few days of cold weather, but the water is still very cold. Had to try the new Echo Glass 8'6" 4wt fly rod out, so I focused on catching a bluegill. Wasn't easy, but I finally got one to take a dark brown ant I tied to sink very slowly. First fish on the new rod!
Also got my fish for the month of February, which is tough most years.

Only about 2' deep. I caught it where the spillway empties into a deep hole below the dam. Water coming off the spillway on a sunny day is warmed just a bit (long spillway with very low water flow today), and they sometimes are looking for food in that warmer water.
