Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I was just wondering if any of you are using superlines, like Berkley Fireline? I have used it for jigging walleyes, bass and icefishing. I just bought some 3lb crystal fireline. It has a 3/4lb mono diameter. I have always used 4lb mono but want to try something with a smaller diameter. I'm looking for less visability and more sensitivity. The rod that I have this on is a 6ft one piece St.Croix UL that I built myself many moons ago. It casts great with 4lb and is very sensitive, but I'm always looking for an edge!

After two days of using the 3lb Fireline... and.... I LOVE IT!!! It cast like a dream, no twists, good stuff! My only complaint is that it sucks for slip float fishing. The line is too slippery for the float stopper to hold in one spot!
i use visious panfish line 4 lb. test in high viz yellow its a co polymer and good for line watching and when goes under water it is virtually invisible that the part i like so i hope this help
I have used both Fireline and Power Pro for the last 12 or so years and prefer Power Pro. I will never used mono again. I have been using 10/2 lb. test for larger fish and 8/1 lb. test for bluegills, shellcrackers, etc. and want to try 5/1 Power Pro whose diameter is actually less than a 1 lb. test. For me, the advantage is casting distance, lack of coils, strength, and sensitivity. I will use some floro as a short leader most times but have tied directly to the lure and that works also except sometime the lure gets hung up on the line. From reading forums on the internet, it seems to me that a lot of people are not getting the point about what size to use. For instance, many people will use say 30/6 lb. power pro which is the diameter of 6 lb. test line but tests 30 lbs. because they usually use 6 lb. test mono. The problem is that they will get no advantage because they will be using the same diameter line with strength they will never need when they could be using 8/1 or 5/1 lb. power pro with a much smaller diameter line and get enormous benefits.
