Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Now that the weather is changing to summer I was wondering about some techniques. Can anyone help me out?

What is that
Brandon -Yes summer is just down the road .Post spawn bigger fish are deeper .You got a boat?If not try to find shore spots with productive steeper banks.Check out slip floating and small spoons tipped with worm pieces.Fish outside edges of weeds and break lines during the heat of the day.Checkout the photos with pics of the lures for BlueGills from my June,July ,August and September photos from last year. You may get a few ideas. http://www.bigbluegill.com/photo/album/listForOwner?screenName=01fi...
Jim Gronaw,Bruce Condello ,Musky Mod ,and others have great ideas on catching Big Blue Gill. Seek them out on this site. Also try to find the guys from your area of the country. I'm from NewJersey and Jim G is from Maryland so I usually want to know what he's up to all the time.

Let me know how you do and pass some hints my way I can use them.
I usually use a size 10 hook and a small split shot a foot above the hook. Another thing that I use a lot that seems to work out pretty good is making a leader. I use a small slip weight and a double sided swivel with a foot of leader attached to the other end with a size 10 hook. I put a cricket or worm on and it works pretty well. You will usually catch a bluegill or redear on it.
Go early, feed them crickets for breakfast, they like that, beat the heat, the heat index here right now is 105 degrees, drink plenty of fluids, and use sunscreen
