Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Here at bigbluegill.com, we see a large number of very impressive pictures. The digital camera age has blessed us with high megapixel technology, capable of delivering vivid, crystal clear imagery thru high picture resolutions.

More than 75% of internet users today use a screen resolution setting of 1024x768.
In order to properly display high resolution pics in these forums, you may need to resize your image prior to upload. Most digital camera software comes with some type of photo editing tool that will allow you to resize the image to the proper pixel width.

Here are the maximum pixel width values for the different forums here.

Group forum.....maximum pixel width is 456

Discussion forum.....maximum pixel width is 644

Because these forums have a limited pixel width, and an almost unlimited pixel height, any photo exceeding the maximum width will stretch the photo, sometimes beyond recognition.....pics uploaded to your photo section are automatically configured and are not subject to photo stretching.

Here is an example of photo stretching.

Wow! Cool stuff...now al I need to do is understand it all!
Mike, many people use photobucket for sizing and storage....If you want to use your actual pics in the body of the discussion, go to your photobucket account,...open your picture, right click on image......choose "save picture as"......when save folder opens, create a new folder, and give it a name...i.e. "gills"...create a file name for your pic, then choose save. This will give you an easy access area and location for pics you plan on posting......When posting a pic in discussion, use the "add an image" feature.....use the browse option to find your folder, and select the file you wish to upload.

You can also easily upload pics from your hard drive so long as you know their location, and the pixel width is appropriate.

Be sure to not forget the location of the folder...i.e. desktop, or "my pictures"

message me if you need a walk thru.
Mike, ya stretched it out a bit.....reason being, your original upload was 2816x2112...much too large, keep in mind that the maximum pixel width in discussion forum is 644.....I'm not sure what program your using to resize, but if it has pixel setting window in the resizing platform, simply adjust pixel width to 644, or just make the pic smaller.....your original is 40"x30"

Here's your pic backed down to a 644 max width...9"x6.7"

Hmm, I just started messing with my pics, the last few days and never noticed any pic stretch on the pics above. I just looked here now and noticed an extreme exaggeration in pic stretch.Any ideas, as to why I am now seeing this? I use kodak and have a bit of a process before I can even get pics to my page, usually emailing them to myself and then relocating, before I can finally post them here or elsewhere.
Kodak does not have a pixel size range I can adjust to, I dont think my pics have been stretched any, or not badly as far as I can see so far.
I have a selection of sizes I can resize too such as potrait 3 x 5 and landscape and so on.Any ideas on this Bill.I am guessing it has just been using the default setting and I have been lucky with that so far.
Rob, when pics are uploaded to your photo album, they are automatically configured to fit the page....in all other forums, they are not.....to determine pixel width, right click on the file and check the properties of the photo.
