Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Thank all of those that replied to my earlier post on their favorite gill rod. I decided on a rod from Norsemen Outdoors. It is a 5'6" UL. I spoke with the owner on Friday ,and had hoped to find a distributor here in GA, but with no luck. I have never bought a rod without first feeling it, but he assured me that I can return it if I am not happy with it for any reason. He even went so far as to tell me I could fish with it, and if it wasn't what I wanted I could return it. I guess I cannot go wrong with that kind of a guarantee. I will let you know more once it gets here.

That's a great choice.  I love my 6 foot power lite.  It is really like a medium lite I would guess.  I know I didn't have any problems with that nine pound bass I caught on it.  The graphite handle is very sensitive.  It is the most sensitive rod I have ever used.  I think you will be really happy with your choice.

The sensitive handle design was a selling point  for me.  Do the slip rings on the handle hold your reel well without using additional tape?

Vince

I cut off the slip rings and tape the reel  to the handle with electrical tape.  To tell you the truth I have never used the slip rings.  I used to have a Tennessee handle rod (just a cork handle with no reel seat) and I always taped my reels to the handle.  try out the slip rings, but know that you have the option to tape down your reel with electrical tape.

$84.14 with shipping.

Let me know how it goes with your rod.   Give me a update when hou try it out.
