Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

My biggest fear is that after I'm gone is that my wife will sell my fishing equipment for what I told her I paid for it, now that being said I have two questions,  1. How much do you think fair market value for Bluegill fillets should cost , if you had to buy them, if it was not illegal in most areas?  2.  Next question: How much do you think you spend per pound harvesting Bluegill fillets per year, think about it and tell the truth , no on is going to tell your wife?

Unfortunately I dont have anyone to answe to about the cost of chasing bluegill. Just keeping my eye on the PRIZE and the fun of doing it!!!!!!

I only fish my own ponds, so let's see...

Purchasing fish, (fingerlings) on a regular basis...$$$

Aeration system to improve water quality, necessary to keep fish healthy and growing..$$$$

Fluridone and Cutrine treatments to hold aquatic vegetation at bay...$$$

Multiple bags of high protein fish food, again, necessary for optimum fish growth...$$$

Many gallons of fuel consumed in mowing, trimming, and grooming around ponds...$$$

Construction of floating dock, so family can enjoy pond with me, (worth every penny)...$$$

The usual suspects.... rods, reels, lures, tackle, tackle boxes, new line, sonar, ice auger, shanty, Ice fishing suit, trolling motor...$$$     but hey, no fishing license needed!

Yeah, Bluegill fillets can be kinda' pricey,  and then you get to watch your kids dip theirs in ketchup...

It's all good though, I wouldn't want it any other way. Catching Bluegill, ANY Bluegill, still puts a smile on my face and brightens my day.

The cost of fishing far outweighs the cost of fish.

The best part of your scenario is you'll be gone when your gear goes.

While the equipment, fly rods, reels, assortment of floating and sinking line for each!!!!! Last count was 9 fly rods and am thinking about building one!!!! Float tubes, vices for tying, fly tying material etc.. Hackle skins will probably bring the most $$$$$ because of Steven Tyler wearing them in his hair on American Idol!!!! My daughter tells me I have several thousand $$$$ in that alone!!!!!

Cost of bluegill fillets, well nothing will be made off of them, I release most of the fish I catch and the one's I do catch will be filletted and eaten within 24 hours!!!!!! Nothing goes into the freezer!!!!

My biggest fear is all my BEAUTIFUL HACKLES in the hair for a few days and then thrown away, Thank You MR. TYLER!!!!!!!

3rd question:  Maybe I should have told her what I actually paid for them so I won't loose so much money.
