Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Does anyone live in the Austin or San Marcos area in Texas? I'm in incredibly unfamiliar territory, i'm not used to fishing in clear water and don't have any spots thataren't blown out by touristy types!

I'm in the san antonio area. right now there is a couple of good lakes to fish and most of the creeks are free of tubers, I'm out of town till sunday. but some of the good lake in the austin area are lake pflugerville and Lady bird lake

thank you for the info. i think i fished lady bird lake, but had little success. we fished the river beyond the dam of it though and icaught a decentwarmouth and some BG.  Then i fished off a boat ramp on lake austin i believe, and caught some pretty good size assortment of BG and redears, and maybe a hybrid redear/bg?

a couple photos. the bass and warmouth were from the river behind the dam, and the third photo is from lake austin.

Look up the In Fisherman website, they had an article in one of the last couple of issues that was on Texas panfishing...I think Dave Whitlock was the author.  I'll see if I can find it and send you a link

Thank you sir! I found and read several of the articles that came up. I feel like i need to get a fly rod and a canoe or a kayak now!

Chris,
I located that article, Go to Fly Fisherman Magazine. Enter Texas in their search box and the second article is "Hill Country Panfish"
