Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

A lot of us in the mid US are enjoying a very cold high pressure system thanks to our neighbors to the north!
My question is what effect does this have on winter fishing?

The bite typically gets tough. So I'm dropping in my jig sizes down to 100th oz. I'm also not able to lift the fish as high and I'm doing a lot more dead sticking.
This surprises me. I would have guessed, that it would have been just opposite. I'm going to start paying attention to this and see how it works for us.
