Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

They are just about ON !!!   :-)  Whooo Hooo !  :)

So I made my first trip for the giant Sunnies last early this week, and although they were not up thick yet, I did manage to get 7 of them, the biggest two of which were a legit 1lb Bluegill (with the beautiful pinkish / peachy colored breast) and one, that appeared to be a Red Ear / Bluegill hybrid, of about 1 1/4 lbs.

By the time I go out next week, we will have had a solid week of 90 to 100 degree temps + it will be the same week they started spawning last year :)

This year, for some of the slightly smaller, but even more beautiful Bluegills, I'm planning to do some up close and personal (macro) photography, with a polarizing filter.... and for these shots, I won't even try to get my big ugly mug in the photo :)

On the other hand, if I can get any GIANT Red Ears (3 - 4+ lbs ?) of course I will take some of the old school > "Look, this is me holding out a giant" kind of shots too :) LOL

I am SOOO stoked ! I really need a good fish catching fix ! Toughest year for bass fishing ever :(

I feel like a little kid the week before Christmas !  :)

Will be back soon !  :)

Oh, and I hope you guys are all doing well, and sticking some good ones :)

Peace,

Fish
