Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Went to check out a couple holes in a creek that I haven't been to in months.  Took my fly rod in, instead of my usual ultralight.  I made a few casts with a Bead Head Wooly Bugger in Olive, when I saw this:

There were those two swimming around, as well as some other Carp, a Gar, lots of Bluegill, Green Sunnies in the rocks, and a bunch of small LMB's swimming around.

I caught three fish at this hole, and lots more in the hole just upstream, on the BH Wooly Bugger, and on a foam Hopper.

Do you think that both prety quickly went deep means they were being coy?

LOL!!!

Is it just me or are these fish really smart? I have attempted to catch these on a number of occasions with no success.
