Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

 Hey Guy's

I recently purchased a new G. Loomis TJR782-2 GL2 series trout light action rod. I will fish it tomorrow for the first time. I am matching it to a JDM Daiwa Luvias 1003 for my testing. The rod will be going to my nephew and have a Shimano Stradic 1000FI on it then. My intial impression is that it will be more ul then light, which is how I also describe the SR782-2 GL3. The finish and feel of the new GL2 ul rods is pretty good. The handle is nicer then the older GL2 models. I also had a play with a TJR720-1 rod last week at my local Cabela's. That one also felt great and would make a great trout stream rod imho. I will add comments tomorrow after I test it out on some local bluegills, crappies and bass. Anxious to see how it compares to my favorite TSR series ultra lights and also to the older neptune GL2 SR782-2 rods I have for visitng anglers to borrow.

Personally I have owned only 1 Loomis rod which I built 25 years ago. It was a heavy duty worm spinning rod for bass. It was a great rod which I gave to a friend who uses it to this day for flathead catfish. Loomis makes good rods and I'm not quit sure why I didn't replace It. Anyway enjoy and GOOD FISHIN..
Fished the rod today. Caught a ton of bluegills, a few LM Bass and Crappie. The rod is quite good. I realll liked the way it loaded up with a fish on it. Casts well. I would recomend it to anyone looking for an entry level G. Loomis ul rod.
