Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Went back to my pond yesterday, and pretty much just looked for the big Red Ears. Oh sure, when I saw some good catfish, I'd throw a crawler at them. Caught two of those, about 5lbs..... and the same with the bass, caught about 8 of those. The biggest was a healthy 4lb+ Smallmouth > and the big one that got away :-( ....an 8 to 9 lb Largemouth, that ripped about 40 feet of drag, then simply popped loose. Oh well.

Ah, but the Red Ears :-) Only caught 10 of them, but I'm sure they would have weighed close to 15 lbs. The biggest was another 13 3/4", but this one was a touch lighter at only 1.75 lbs. Still a big ol' Sunny, and it fought like mad !

Geeez, I just keep hoping to stumble across that 2 1/2 to 3+ lb'er. I'm sure this lake must have a couple somewhere ?

Anyway, going to try again tomorrow :-) Whoo Hooo !

Peace,
Fish
