This is one of the coolest  things I've seen looking at the history of licensing....It is a replica of a bluegill which makes it my favorite.....You actually displayed this pin on your hat or shirt when fishing..........It would be cool to see if anyone else had any cool pieces of history....

I have some old fishing licenses from my dads, dad and his brother, ca. 1920-ish.

They are from California (my home state) and were like $2. Ill see if I can find them and get a decent shot.

Thanks for posting Jeffrey. I never knew such a license existed.

Technology has changed some things for the better, but I for one think it would be cool to have a little badge as a license.......a nice little tribute to the Bluegill as well......Lots of states used badges back in the early 1900s...pretty cool stuff out there......

Drivers licenses were often done the same way, as metal badges.

Heres a CA fishing license from 1923. It belonged to my Dads uncle Steven and cost one dollar back then:

Im thinking that perhaps the metal pins were either optional, or came in along with the paper license. The pin back hanger is a good idea, as it's certainly waterproof. Also, men were more accustomed to things like this than we are. Lapel pins, Military service pins, imprinted suspender clips, vest chains and watch fobs.... such things were common then.

Cool addition to this discussion, thanks for sharing..........all for $1.00.......

this is one of the coolest things ive ever seen. lol. id actually save my expired licenses if they looked like this!

WOW really nice find!
