Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I just saw a youtube video of Roland Martin and a lake Okeechobee bluegill guide, and I didn't understand his beetle spin mods, these are the favorite lure of my children. does anyone have any beetle spin mods or suggestions/ideas?

thanks!

I carried the link here maybe somebody could figure out what they are doing ..he calls it a beetle spin but he's using a eagle claw spinner with a 1/6 oz jig head .. I like the rod RM  is using ..

I think #2 Colorado blade? 1/32 oz grub? 1/16 oz jighead with a tiny hook(where do I get those?)

anyone know where I could get jigheads that are 1/16 oz with tiny hooks?

thanks!

he may be building his own beetle spin type baits.  i use arkie jig spinners and crappie magnet hair jigs to build mine.  ill check my boat tomorrow and post what size spinners they are as well as the hook sizes.  personally on KY lake gills i like a #6 hook unless conditions call for finesse then i down size to #8.  i do like the white/red stripe soft baits that come with the beetle spins but i have been using a pearl/pink tube body with great success.
