I don't always use a towel, but I usually do because on this side of my lake, I don't like how they feel. They're extra slimy. But where most of the rest of the lake isn't as "squishy" on the bottom.

Question...do you always use a towel to hold your fish? The towel may remove some of the protective slime coating on the bluegill.
